Looking for some family fun this month? Lancaster, Pennsylvania is full of activity opportunities for families and children, both indoors and outdoors. Whether you prefer being in nature or enjoying a hands-on museum experience, there are plenty of options throughout the county.

Here are four of my favorites:

Interactive House Children’s Museum

Practical house is a museum created for children. It’s about creating learning experiences for children and their families through play. The museum’s philosophy of childhood learning is simple: it lasts longer if it’s more fun, and it’s more is more fun if it includes action.

Ideal for ages: 2-10.

Lancaster County Central Park Hike

Lancaster County Central Park offers wonderful trails for hiking, biking and horseback riding.

The trails will take you through fields, through woods, and along streams, and in my opinion, there’s no better time to hike than in the fall and at the best time for the foliage in the mountains. ‘fall. Mill Creek Trail is one of the best trails if you are bringing little ones. It’s not too difficult of a hike and there’s plenty to see along the way.

Stroll through Lititz on Second Friday

All second friday of the month, the town center of Lititz becomes a lively place.

Most stores are open later, many of them with special and seasonal offers. There is fun entertainment and plenty of opportunities to chat with the locals. If there’s a time to visit what was once named the coolest small town in America, it’s second Friday.

A vacation visit to Kitchen Kettle Village

Kitchen Kettle Village is one of the cutest places in Lancaster County.

Towards the end of the month, on November 25, they organize their only holiday tasting tour of the season. There will be tree lighting, live music, holiday shopping, and plenty of sweet and savory food samples.

As long as you and your family enjoy the food, chances are you’ll have a great time at this event.
