5 self-guided bike tours to do by Buffalo Bike Tours
There is no better way to see our beautiful city than on two wheels, and coincidentally our friends in Buffalo have created a series in the light of Covid called Bike there! 5 Self-Guided Buffalo Bike Tours.
And when we say ‘self-guided’ we mean you do it yourself, but you’ll have detailed information telling you where to go along the way! Tours are accessible through the Ride with GPS app and are free (tips are highly appreciated).
How it works
Each tour includes landmark sheets, landmarks, historical and interesting stories, photos, and hyperlinks with more information. Course distances vary and bikers can always improvise, but as an example the first course is 11.5 miles over fairly flat terrain.
Participants can access the routes by registering on buffalobiketours.com. Buffalo Routes all depart and return at the Buffalo Bike Tours Canalside Kiosk (1 Naval Park Cove, Buffalo, NY 14202). Participants must bring their own bikes, however rentals are available through Buffalo Bike Tours.
The project was created, in part, in response to the COVID-19 crisis and to promote exercise, celebrate our great city and establish social distancing. Using the Ride With GPS app, users can operate their smartphones and follow scheduled routes grouped around themes, transmitting historical information about various Buffalo landmarks.
The project is made possible through the support of Niagara River Greenway, who are actively working with GOBike and other cycling advocacy groups to promote opportunities for every community to explore our Niagara region by biking and walking. safe and attractive trails.
