Deployment for BeltLine bike tours!

Enjoy an invigorating bike ride and fresh air while learning about the past, present and future of Project Atlanta BeltLine. Tours include brief stops highlighting points of interest along the corridor.

Tour details

Reservations are required for all tours.

  • When: Saturday morning
  • Or: Atlanta BeltLine Westside Trail (see details below)
  • Time: Tours leave promptly at 9:00 a.m. Arrival at 8:45 am for check-in. Tours last approximately two and a half hours.
  • Cost: Atlanta BeltLine bike tours are free. Any donation you would like to make to the Atlanta BeltLine Partnership would be greatly appreciated.
  • Group size: Tours are limited to 20 participants. Participants must be at least 13 years old, comfortable with cycling and able to complete a 16 km trip with several stops on relatively flat terrain (there are a few small hills).
  • COVID: all Current COVID CDC guidelines will be followed. Unvaccinated participants will be asked to wear a mask.
  • Tourist guides: Tours are led by qualified guides familiar with the Atlanta BeltLine Project and the neighborhoods the trail passes through. There is also a sweeper who hangs out behind the group, making sure the group stays together. Both guides are experienced cyclists familiar with bicycle safety and etiquette.
  • Vacation: Visits do not take place on bank holiday weekends.

Westside Trail Bike Tour

  • When: Every Saturday morning (weather permitting) from September 11 to November 13.
  • Or: Meet at the Lee + White development car park, 1020 White St. in the West End where ample free parking is available. Specifically, meet by the West End mural at the north end of the parking lot. Feel free to stay after the tour to take advantage of the many amenities Lee + White has to offer (Monday Night Garage, Wild Heaven Brewery, Hop City, Boxcar Gastropub, Atlanta Spirit Works and more).
  • Registration: 8.45 a.m. if you bring your own bike, 8.30 a.m. if you rent a bike
  • Go: Tours depart promptly at 9:00 a.m.
  • To recover: Tours will return to Lee + White no later than 12:00 PM
  • Bike rental: Bicycle and helmet rental is available from our bicycle rental partner, Clutch Bike Shop. The cost of renting a bike and a helmet for the entire tour is $ 30 per person. Clutch will deliver your rental bike and helmet to Lee + White prior to the tour and collect them at the end of the tour. Contact Clutch directly at 404-594-4205 for more information or to arrange your rental. Tell them you’re signing up for an Atlanta BeltLine bike tour. If you are renting from Clutch, please print and complete this disclaimer / liability agreement and bring it with you on the tour.
  • Road: Display a route map of the Westside Trail bike tour. Please note this is a 10 mile tour on relatively flat terrain but there are a few moderate hills. Make sure you are fit to handle this type of visit. Also make sure your bike is in good working order to support a 10 mile ride. If you are signing up for multiple people, be sure to pass this important information on to them.

Register now

Check tour availability and register through the online tour booking system. When you register, you will receive a confirmation email. If you select a particular tour and are invited to join a waitlist, that particular tour is full. You can choose to add your name to the waiting list for this tour or to search for another available tour. If you join a waitlist and a slot in this tour opens, you will receive an email notifying you and will have 24 hours to take that slot before it is communicated to someone else. other.


What to expect on the day of the visit

Check-in time

What to bring

  • Cyclists should bring a working multi-speed bicycle, wear comfortable clothing, wear a helmet, and bring a full bottle of water and desired snacks. Participants should also bring a COVID mask with them. All unvaccinated participants will be asked to wear a mask during the tour.
  • For those who do not yet have their own bicycle, bicycle and helmet rental is available from our partner Clutch Bicycle Shop. The cost of renting a bike and a helmet for the entire tour is $ 30 per person. I don’t have a bicycle. Can I still participate?

All reservations are full. Is there a waiting list?

Yes, the registration system we use will allow you to register on a waiting list if there is no more space when registering.

Is it a walk in the rain or the good weather?

If adverse weather conditions (rain and / or thunder and lightning) are expected for the duration of the tour, you will receive a cancellation notice from your guide no later than 7:30 am on the morning of the tour. In most cases, we will make this call the day before the visit and send the cancellation notice at that time.

What level of cycling proficiency is required to participate in this tour?

Participants must be at least 13 years old, comfortable with cycling, familiar with basic cycling etiquette and the rules of the road, and able to complete a 15 km trip over relatively flat terrain (there are a few small hills). Keep in mind that this is a quiet visit, not a vigorous workout.

What should I bring / wear?

Cyclists should bring a working multi-speed bicycle, wear comfortable clothing and shoes, wear a helmet, and bring a bottle of water and any snacks you want during the tour. As a reminder, helmets are required by law for participants 16 years of age or younger and we strongly encourage all participants to wear a helmet.
