Bogus Basin is ready with ALL winter fun activities

Did you know that Bogus Basin is Idaho’s second largest mountain recreation area with 2,600 acres? It is also the largest non-profit mountain recreation area in the country and has been part of the Treasure Valley for almost 80 years. Quite spectacular – This means ALL revenue is directly reinvested back into the operation to improve the customer experience, rather than putting the money back into the hands of senior management or owners. No, Bogus Basin is better than that and continues to improve year over year due to the fact that it is non-profit. So when you visit, know that your hard-earned entry just makes the mountain a better place for your next visit. 🙂

What are the things that the Bous Basin has improved with admission and fees? New chairlifts, brush clearing, land expansion, brand new downhill bike park served by ski lifts (The Basin Gravity Park), roller coaster construction, several youth programs, lodge renovations and even a new snowmaking system .. Updates like these and more are underway year after year at Bogus Basin with plans for many more to come.

In fact, Bogus Basin recently completed a 10 year master plan in just 5 years thanks to the support and growth of the community. They’re now making plans for the next 10-year plan with more updates, upgrades, and attractions. Almost 500,000 people visit the region each year. I got to visit and have fun with summer activities and now look forward to winter on Bogus.

Here are the winter statistics for the false basin and winter operations:
• 2,600 acres of land
• 10 ski lifts (4 detachable high speed quads)
• 88 tracks
• 1,800 real vertical feet of ski
• 12 to 13 hours of skiing / riding per day
• Group and private ski and snowboard lessons
• Ski and snowboard rental and full service point of sale
• 37 km of Nordic trails: open to Nordic skiing, snowshoes and fat-tire bikes
• Winter Tubing Hill: 800 ft of downhill thrills with the convenience of an elevator conveyor to the top
• Glade Runner Mountain Coaster with winter vacation hours (I did this in the summer, see pics below, but it would be so cool to try it in the winter too!)
• 3 lodges with 3 additional catering points

If you haven’t been in a year or two, you will surely notice a lot of improvements to the parking lot at the lodge and more.
