From its beginnings in 2008 with just four bikes and operating out of a garage, Pedal now owns several dozen bikes and takes thousands of customers around Portland and Oregon from our beautiful downtown Portland boutique.

You will be responsible for managing the daily operations of the store. Love of bikes is a must, bike shop experience is a plus.

The responsibilities of the Shop Operations Manager include working with the business owner, shop coordinator, chief mechanic, shop staff and tour guides to keep the business running smoothly .

People Management: Manage the store and employees to ensure productivity, cohesion and a high level of customer service.
Train employees
Resolve apparent performance issues and employee concerns as they arise
Review scorecards for accuracy
Train employees on tour, reservation and retail procedures
Work with mechanic to ensure bikes are properly maintained
Project management:
Work with mechanic and clerk to ensure customer bikes are repaired in a timely manner.
Manage the tour booking system – Ensure guides and tours are properly scheduled. Create and update prices, partners and visits.
Manage the bike fleet to ensure we have enough bikes, helmets and locks between tours and rentals.
Customer service:
Treat everyone with respect.
Respond to customer emails and phone calls in a timely manner.
Visits:
Arrange visits as needed
Create personalized tours
Detail:
Work with the Store Coordinator to maintain inventory and order new products
Manage sales events, keep inventory stocked and attractively displayed
Lightspeed POS system – run reports, perform end-of-day transactions, ensure numbers match and reports are filed, deposit money.
Maintain petty cash, change to register
Vehicles: manage the fleet of vehicles
Manage oil changes and maintenance needs.
Monitor cleanliness and have vehicles cleaned.
Computer Skills: Familiarity with common office and retail software such as Google Docs, Gmail, Calendar, Lightspeed POS and online booking software
Physical Labor: Whether setting up store space, guiding tours, receiving retail items, or retrieving disabled bicycles, the store operations manager must be comfortable with occasional heavy lifting, repetitive physical tasks, cycling 10-20 miles and being safety conscious.

Full time until October. Must be willing to work weekends, especially from June to September. $20/hour
