Pullmantur offers electric bike tours – Cruise Industry News
Pullmantur Cruceros offers electric bike tours on its routes around the Adriatic and Aegean, on its Rondo Veneciano and Greek Islands cruises, respectively.
Passengers aboard the Horizon now count on a new way to experience these destinations in a healthy and environmentally friendly way, while participating in a group activity in the company of family and friends, Pullmantur said in a prepared press release.
Accompanied by an instructor guide and equipped with helmets, water and energy bars, Horizon passengers will travel on routes specially designed for maximum pleasure on two wheels. They also have the advantage of being organized in small groups, thus offering a tailor-made excursion adapted to each participant.
According to Richard J. Vogel, Chairman and CEO of Pullmantur Cruceros, âthe beauty of the stopovers included in these itineraries is undeniable: each city has its own unique character, and no one will be indifferent.
âBy implementing this new offerâ, he added, âwe seek to continue to evolve, adapting our product to the tastes of our Spanish customers who show a growing passion for cycling, offering them the possibility to explore regions of Europe in a way they might have never imagined: on an electric bike. “
Passengers aboard the Horizon will be able, depending on the itinerary, to cycle to the Acropolis of Athens, with its ancient columns and temples, to discover the old towns of Corfu, Dubrovnik and Padua, with its university, and admire the view from the Rumija mountains to Bar. And also visit the island of Mykonos, enjoy a view of the bay of Volos and the nature of Chania.
Each bike ride will also include a stop at a beach.
As for electric bikes, no minimum physical condition is required: the only condition is knowing how to ride a bike. The routes are designed as enjoyable rides for everyone, with the bike’s four power levels allowing each passenger to adjust the level of paddle assistance to their needs, according to Vogel.
Pullmantur Cruceros first integrated e-bike tours last summer as part of its North Sea routes. This option was well received and has since been extended to itineraries in the Caribbean and the Canary Islands.
