Williamson County Rodeo October 21-23
The inaugural Williamson County Fair and Rodeo will take place at the Williamson County Expo Center in Taylor from October 21-23. Opening night is free for veterans and includes The Patriot / Pro Mustang Showdown, a contest that pairs veterans with previously wild mustangs that will compete for over $ 10,000 in cash prizes. The teams will consist of two veterans, a mustang and a horse trainer.
Veterans can try out on October 19 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Ride on Center for Kids, 2050 Rockride Lane, Georgetown
Practice will take place for teams on October 21 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and competition will begin at 7 p.m. on the same day. Williamson County Exhibition Center, 5350 Bill Pickett Trail, Taylor. 512-238-2101.
Sweet Eats Fruit Farm Fall Festival until November 21
The Sweet Eats Fruit Farm Fall Festival runs through November 21 and features a corn maze, acres of pumpkins to pick, wagon rides, Oktoberfest beer, an 11 foot pumpkin house and more . Williamson-Bell County Pecan Show, December 17
The Williamson-Bell County Pecan Show takes place in Georgetown with a pecan contest and food show on December 17. The contest is open to any Williamson County resident with a pecan tree who wishes to compete for the best pecans in the county. Harvests are due in 2021 and all pecans are to be grown in Williamson County.
The Pecan Food Fair is open to both junior and adult registrations and consists of several categories including pies, bread, rolls, candies, cakes, cookies, bars and fancy nuts. . Entries for the pecan food show are $ 5 per entry.
Pecans can be dropped off on December 15 at 5 p.m. and food entrees can be dropped off between 8 a.m. and noon on December 17 at the extension office, 100 Wilco Way, Ste. AG201, Georgetown. 512-943-3300.
